Monastir governorate
Given its geographical position opening on the Mediterranean, its modern infrastructure, its dynamic and competent human resources, the governorate of Monastir is characterized by a diversified economy articulated essentially around tourism, textile - apparel and cultures futures.
Also, the region is characterized by its high population density and its branched urban structure houses a university center nationwide listing 12 higher education and research institutions in science and technology, a science park in the textile and clothing during the implementation of innovative projects and incubation structures.
In addition, the governorate of Monastir is confronted with problems related to increased water needs, the deficit of land reserves as well as appointed pressures on the ecosystem of the coastal and urban areas.
